Statins given after acute coronary syndrome without ST elevation (NSTE-ACS) reduce the incidence of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in long-term follow-up. ⋯ Administration of high-dose statin in NSTE ACS patients before PCI was associated with significant reduction of MACE in long-term follow-up. This effect was observed despite the same therapy given after PCI.
