Brugada syndrome is a genetic disease characterised by ST segment elevation in right precordial leads and the occurrence of episodes of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. It is also associated with a high risk of sudden death. We describe three males in whom Brugada syndrome was finally diagnosed after several hospitalisations due to syncope and ventricular tachycardia.

Comparison of propofol and etomidate anaesthesia for elective electrical cardioversion.
Propofol has been previously shown to be superior to etomidate during electrical cardioversion (EC) of atrial tachyarrhythmias. However, literature on this topic is scarce and the optimal anaesthetic technique for EC has not yet been firmly established. ⋯ In terms of side effects, propofol is superior to etomidate with fentanyl for elective EC of atrial tachyarrhythmias.
