Randomized Controlled Trial
The analgesic efficiency of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block after caesarean delivery.
The ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is a supporting method of pain relief after different types of surgical and gynecological procedures. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the analgesic effects of the TAP-block in patients undergoing caesarean section. ⋯ The TAP block is a safe and effective adjunctive method of pain relief after caesarean delivery.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) versus conventional postoperative care in patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomies.
In the present study, we aimed to compare the postoperative compliance and complications between ERAS and conventional postoperative care in patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomies. ⋯ The ERAS protocol seems to be a simple tool for reducing the incidence of postoperative complications and shortening hospitalization.

Single-layer versus double-layer closure of the vaginal cuff with barbed sutures in laparoscopic hysterectomy.
The utilization of barbed sutures in laparoscopic hysterectomy has become popular among gynecologic sur-geons. Our aim was to compare the outcomes of two different techniques for closing the vaginal cuff with barbed sutures in laparoscopic hysterectomies. ⋯ We observed no differences in outcomes between single- or double-layer vaginal closure techniques with barbed sutures.

Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Quadratus Lumborum Block type I using ropivacaine in postoperative analgesia after a cesarean section - a controlled clinical study.
Quadratus Lumborum Block in contrast to Transversus Abdominis Plane Block contains a unique component which not only stops somatic pain but also inhibits visceral pain by spreading the local anesthetic to the paravertebral space. This study was designed to determine whether performing the Quadratus Lumborum Block type I in patients un-dergoing cesarean section would be associated with both decreased morphine consumption and decreased pain levels in the postoperative 48-hour period. ⋯ Quadratus Lumborum Block type I significantly reduces morphine consumption and pain levels up to 48 hours postoperatively.
