Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomized comparison of two methods of the epidural space identification during regional labour analgesia.
Conventional loss of resistance (LOR) technique for identifying the epidural space (EDS) predominantly depends on experience of the anaesthetist. A technique using automated syringe for EDS identification was invented as an alternative to the traditional method. The aim of the study was to compare the efficacy and risk for complications between automatic LOR syringe - Epimatic® (Vygon, Ecouen, France) and conventional LOR - Perifix® (B.Braun Melsungen AG, Melsungen, Germany) techniques for EDS identification. ⋯ The automatic and the conventional LOR techniques are comparable in terms of efficacy and safety for the epidural space identification.

Effects of nutritional nursing intervention based on glycemic load for patient with gestational diabetes mellitus.
To determine the effects of nutritional nursing intervention based on glycemic load (GL) for patients with gestational diabetes mellitus. ⋯ Nutritional nursing intervention based on GL is more effective than traditional nutritional nursing for patients with gestational diabetes, and can effectively control the blood glucose level, reduce the incidence of pregnant complica- tions, and improve the pregnancy outcome. Thus, nutritional nursing intervention based on GL deserves to be popularized.

The analgesic efficiency of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block after caesarean delivery.
The ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is a supporting method of pain relief after different types of surgical and gynecological procedures. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the analgesic effects of the TAP-block in patients undergoing caesarean section. ⋯ The TAP block is a safe and effective adjunctive method of pain relief after caesarean delivery.

Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) versus conventional postoperative care in patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomies.
In the present study, we aimed to compare the postoperative compliance and complications between ERAS and conventional postoperative care in patients undergoing abdominal hysterectomies. ⋯ The ERAS protocol seems to be a simple tool for reducing the incidence of postoperative complications and shortening hospitalization.

Single-layer versus double-layer closure of the vaginal cuff with barbed sutures in laparoscopic hysterectomy.
The utilization of barbed sutures in laparoscopic hysterectomy has become popular among gynecologic sur-geons. Our aim was to compare the outcomes of two different techniques for closing the vaginal cuff with barbed sutures in laparoscopic hysterectomies. ⋯ We observed no differences in outcomes between single- or double-layer vaginal closure techniques with barbed sutures.
