Observational StudyResponsiveness of the Spanish Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory and Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaires Short Forms (PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7) in women with pelvic floor disorders.
To evaluate the responsiveness of the Spanish versions of Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory and Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaire Short Forms (PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7), in order to assess symptoms and quality of life in Spanish women with pelvic floor disorders. ⋯ PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 Spanish versions showed good responsiveness to evaluate the symptoms and the quality of life in Spanish women with PFD undergoing Physiotherapy treatment.

Training program for the management of two obstetric emergencies within a French perinatal care network.
To evaluate the effectiveness of an interdisciplinary team training program based on simulated scenarios and focusing on two obstetrical emergency situations: shoulder dystocia and complicated breech vaginal delivery (CBVD). These situations are rare, so there are few opportunities for real-life training, yet their competent and efficient management is crucial to minimizing the risks to mother and child. ⋯ This study demonstrated the value of multidisciplinary team training for obstetric emergencies, encouraging the ELENA perinatal care network to implement an annual training program for its staff. Over and above our experience, the future establishment of a national education program to optimize the management of obstetric emergencies seems to be essential.

Circulating levels of obestatin and copeptin in obese and nonobese women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrinopathies, affecting 5-8% of reproductive-age women. It is associated with insulin resistance, central obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular diseases. The current study was undertaken to evaluate serum copeptin and obestatin levels, carotid artery intima-media thickness, and brachial artery flow mediated dilatation in obese and nonobese women with PCOS and age-matched healthy controls and to investigate their relationship with each other and with clinical, metabolic, and hormonal parameters and cardiovascular risk factors. ⋯ Copeptin and obestatin may provide useful information regarding future cardiovascular risk in PCOS patients as copeptin was positively correlated and obestatin was negatively correlated with cardiovascular risk factors.

Review Meta AnalysisThe risk of preterm birth of treated versus untreated cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN): a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Cervical surgery is associated with preterm birth (PTB) and neonatal morbidity. However, it is unknown whether this increased risk is due to the surgery itself or to the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) underlying the surgery. Our objective was to assess the risk for PTB in women with treated and untreated CIN. ⋯ In women with cervical surgery, the risks for spontaneous PTB<37 weeks (OR 0.87, 95% CI 0.54-1.4), caesarean section (OR 1.0, 95% CI 0.71-1.5) and perinatal mortality (OR 1.0, 95% CI 0.38-2.8) were not increased. The increased risk of PTB in women who underwent cervical surgery for CIN is especially increased when performed during pregnancy. When performed before pregnancy the risk of PTB is increased, although insignificant.
