ReviewUpdate on Urological Management of Spina Bifida from Prenatal Diagnosis to Adulthood.
We review the current literature regarding urological management of spina bifida from prenatal diagnosis to adulthood. ⋯ Despite consensus regarding early urological involvement in the care of patients with spina bifida, controversy remains regarding optimal management. Major reconstructive urological surgeries still have a major role in the management of these cases to protect the upper urinary tract and to achieve continence. However, future studies are needed to better clarify the true impact on quality of life that these interventions have on patients and their families. Transition of urological care to adulthood remains a major avenue for improvement in disease management.

Development and Validation of a Novel Robotic Procedure Specific Simulation Platform: Partial Nephrectomy.
We developed a novel procedure specific simulation platform for robotic partial nephrectomy. In this study we prospectively evaluate its face, content, construct and concurrent validity. ⋯ This augmented reality simulation platform displayed face, content and construct validity. Performance in the procedure specific virtual reality task correlated highly with a porcine model (concurrent validity). Future efforts will integrate procedure specific virtual reality tasks and their global assessment.

Complications following Staged Hypospadias Repair Using Transposed Preputial Skin Flaps.
Proximal hypospadias repair using a staged approach is a complex reconstructive operation with the potential for significant complications requiring repeat surgery. We report outcomes of staged hypospadias repair using transposed preputial skin flaps and factors predictive of postoperative complications. ⋯ The reoperation rate for complications in children undergoing staged hypospadias repair using transposed preputial skin flaps is higher than previously reported.

Bone Metastasis in Renal Cell Carcinoma is Preprogrammed in the Primary Tumor and Caused by AKT and Integrin α5 Signaling.
Bone metastasis develops in 30% of all patients with renal cell carcinoma. We elucidated the mechanisms that lead to and predict bone metastasis of renal cell carcinoma. ⋯ We describe evidence that molecular predispositions determine the potential for bone metastasis to develop in renal cell carcinoma, which may serve as prognostic markers after initial tumor detection.
