Migraine is a common, chronic neurologic disease which causes serious social and economical disability at both the individual and the community level. The aim of this study was to interpret the data for Turkey from "My Migraine Voice," an online survey of individuals suffering from frequent migraine attacks (≥4 days/month with migraine headaches) who had not benefited from existing prophylactic therapies, conducted in 31 countries to investigate the burden of migraine for the individual and the society. ⋯ This study showed that migraine can cause disability in an individual's private and professional lives during every stage of migraine, including the prodrome and postdrome phases. This finding will be important for designing future treatments aimed at enhancing the quality of life and productivity of patients who cannot adequately benefit from existing therapies.

Some respiratory viruses have long been known to cause neurological involvement. A novel coronavirus, leading to severe acute respiratory syndrome, also called coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19), seems to be a new member of neuroinvasive viruses. While severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) keeps on spreading around the world rapidly, reports about the neurological manifestations associated with SARS-CoV-2, increases day by day. ⋯ In conclusion, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucial to be aware of the possible neurological complications of the disease. Therefore, in this review, we aimed to report neurological manifestations associated with SARS-CoV-2 and possible underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. Due to the high homology of SARS-CoV-2 with other human coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV or Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS)-CoV, reviewing the neurological involvement also associated with these coronaviruses will provide an idea about the long-term complications of COVID-19.

The aim of the present study was to assess the impact of fibromyalgia (FM) comorbidity on disability, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, and quality of life in patients with migraine. ⋯ Our study results demonstrate the significant impact of FM comorbidity on anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, and quality of life in this population. FM evaluation and treatment should be considered in the routine care of patients with migraine to globally improve the patient's quality of life.

Cutaneous allodynia is regarded as an expression of central sensitization in migraine. Although the gold standard is quantitative sensory testing, several practical assessment questionnaires have been developed to assess allodynia in migraine. We aimed to establish the first valid Turkish allodynia assessment questionnaire based on a 12-item allodynia symptom checklist and to evaluate the associated factors. ⋯ Allodynia is common and has clinical significance in migraine; therefore, establishing a validated Turkish questionnaire for the assessment of allodynia was necessary. In this study, a Turkish version of the allodynia symptom checklist was validated and found to be convenient for the identification of allodynia in migraine patients.
