To evaluate the development, validity, and reliability of 2 undergraduate Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) stations for core hand and knee examination skills. ⋯ These OSCE stations are valid and reliable tools for testing competency in core hand and knee examination skills. They can be used in educational research as outcome measures of specific teaching interventions and can also be used as an early feedback tool when teaching joint examination.

Revision hip arthroplasty is associated with less favorable short and longterm results than primary total hip arthroplasty (THA). We compared quality of life and satisfaction 5 years after the 2 interventions, to determine the influence of patient characteristics on poorer outcomes after revision, and to analyze if their influence differed for primary and for revision arthroplasty. ⋯ Patients and physicians should acknowledge additional risks and consequently lower results associated with revision THA. Better information and medical preparation before surgery may help to improve the success of revision surgery.

Although tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) antagonists are effective in the treatment of refractory psoriasis, some cases have suggested that psoriasis might be induced as a result of treatment prescribed mainly for rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and Crohn's disease. To investigate anti-TNF-alpha induced psoriasis, we conducted a systematic analysis of the 6 cases we observed among our inflammatory patient cohort treated with anti-TNF-alpha (infliximab or etanercept). ⋯ In light of previously published cases describing psoriasis or psoriasiform lesions after TNF-alpha antagonist therapy, our series strongly confirms that TNF-alpha antagonists may induce psoriasis in some patients. Further studies are needed to identify risk factors for TNF-alpha antagonist induced psoriasis.
