Case ReportsWhat makes a coronary myocardial bridge symptomatic?
The clinical significance of coronary myocardial bridging has been debated and different interventional strategies proposed. We discuss the case of a patient who presented with the recent onset of symptoms of exertional chest pain, diaphoresis, and electrocardiographic signs of acute anterior myocardial wall ischemia. Cardiac catheterization demonstrated a segmental high-grade narrowing of the mid left anterior descending coronary artery during systole consistent with bridging. Intravenous fluid resuscitation and calcium channel blockade resulted in normalization of his electrocardiogram and complete resolution of his anginal symptoms and coronary angiographic systolic narrowing.

Review Case Reports[Iatrogenic false aneurysm of the ulnar artery. A clinical case and review of the literature].
Nowadays false aneurysms have become an important part of the workload of a vascular surgeon as a result of the increasing number of iatrogenic arterial trauma occurring during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures requiring puncture or exposure of blood vessels. A case of a false aneurysm in the ulnar artery caused by a simple syringe needle during an intravenous cannulation is reported. ⋯ The vascular operation consisted in proximal and distal arterial control, resection of the aneurysm and end-to-end anastomosis. After surgical treatment the patient experienced an excellent anatomic and functional recovery.

Efficacy of intraoperative blood salvage during coronary artery bypass grafting.
To analyze the usefulness of autologous blood salvage and intraoperative isovolemic hemodilution in conjunction with autologous blood salvage in cardiac surgery, and also to compare two different autologous blood salvage methods. ⋯ Intraoperative blood salvaging provides an immediate source of red blood cells and decreases the utilization of homologous blood. In addition, isovolemic hemodilution in conjunction with blood salvage further decreases homologous blood transfusion needs.

Case ReportsEchocardiographic diagnosis of coronary sinus type atrial septal defect. A case report.
Coronary sinus type atrial defect is the result of an incomplete formation of the atriovenous fold. This is a rare anomaly that in a very few cases took advantage of echocardiographic diagnosis before surgery. We report on a case of coronary sinus type atrial septal defect diagnosed by means of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. ⋯ This is one of the few reported cases of coronary sinus type atrial defect diagnosed noninvasively and the diagnostic usefulness of both transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiographic approaches is stressed.
