A meta-analysis was carried out to systematically evaluate the effects of liraglutide on waist circumference, BMI, weight, insulin resistance (IR), Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), and Luteinizing hormone (LH) levels in obese women with polycystic ovarian syndromes (PCOS). ⋯ For women with PCOS, BMI, weight, and waist circumference were significantly decreased after 12~24 weeks of treatment with liraglutide monotherapy and add-on therapy. Insulin resistance might be improved with the use of liraglutide. Nevertheless, large scale randomized control trials should be carried out to elucidate the long-term outcome in improving the insulin sensitivity of liraglutide treatment.

Acute liver injury (ALI) is associated with the occurrence and progress of intrahepatic inflammation. Recent studies have shown that ADAM10, a significant member of metalloproteinase family, has modulated the inflammation level in various neurologic diseases. However, it is elusive whether ADAM10 regulation exert a hepatic protective effect on ALI by the suppression of inflammation level. The study aimed to explore the regulated function of ADAM10 on acute liver injury. ⋯ The above suggested that the inhibition of ADAM10 ameliorates ALI through inhibiting inflammation. Our research provides novel view on the ADAM10 modulation of process of ALI by the inflammation aspect and verify a potential target for the therapy of ALI in the future.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a heterogeneous disease and activation of WNT and TGFβ mediated oncogenic pathways is frequently observed in this pathology. However, to date, limited reports have been published addressing the association of circadian clock with CRC pathogenesis and stratification. The current study aims at assessing the expression of important circadian markers, PER2, PER3 and NR1D1, in independent CRC cohorts and their associations with CRC-related pathways. ⋯ Thus, low PER3 expression in CRC and poor survival of patients with NR1D1-high tumors reveal that genes in the suppressor loop of circadian rhythm are dysregulated in CRC, hence pointing out to the importance of dissecting the circadian pathway in cancer.
