Effect of Prophylactic Caffeine on Noninvasive Respiratory Support in Preterm Neonates Weighing 1250-2000 g: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Caffeine is commonly used to prevent or treat apnea in preterm neonates. The present trial was designed to determine the effect of caffeine on reducing the time required for nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP) in neonates with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). ⋯ The results suggest that preventative caffeine can reduce the duration of NCPAP support in neonates with RDS.

Comparing the Effect of Dienogest and OCPS on Pain and Quality of Life in Women with Endometriosis: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial.
Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent disease that adversely affects women's quality of life (QOL). We aimed to compare the effect of dienogest and oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) on pain and QOL in women with endometriosis. ⋯ The finding of the present study revealed that there is no difference in the efficacy of dienogest and OCPs in management of pain and the QOL. But there was a significant difference between the placebo and intervention groups.

Effect of Maternal Pethidine on Breast Feeding Behavior of Infants in Cesarean Section by Spinal Anesthesia: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Pain control methods after cesarean section may interfere with infant breast-feeding. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of pethidine on breast feeding of infants born via cesarean section with spinal anesthesia. ⋯ Evaluation of infants in the first 48 hours after birth showed that those babies whose mothers received pethidine were less willing to start breast-feeding. However, other components of breast-feeding behaviors were similar.

Comparing the Effect of Risperidone, Virtual Reality and Risperidone on Social Skills, and Behavioral Problems in Children with Autism: A Follow-up Randomized Clinical Trial.
Improving behavioral and social problems in children with autism requires extensive training programs even with parents at home. The main goal of this study is to design a virtual reality (VR) intervention based on the TEACCH method in combination with risperidone to evaluate its effectiveness on social and behavioral problems. ⋯ Combined interventions such as VR can enhance the effectiveness of risperidone response and boost children's preparedness to practice and learn social interaction.

Comparison of Three Different Therapies for Cutaneous Leishmaniasis and Identification of the Etiologic Isolates in Isfahan, Iran.
In Iran, zoonotic and anthroponotic cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) are caused by Leishmania major and L. tropica respectively. Despite extensive studies, no effective therapies have ever been reported for CL. The main objective of this research was to determine and compare the three different protocols for treatment of CL patients referring to Skin Diseases and Leishmaniasis Research Center (SDLRC), affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran from September 2017 to October 2018. ⋯ In this study, the average duration of lesion healing among the three groups was the shortest in patients with IL glucantime plus 50% TCA treatment regimen. Also, the use of 50% TCA in patients suffering from CL was associated with a significant improvement in the depth of scars, the time and the percentage of recovery, and the low cost of this agent in the treatment of CL.
