Anemia is common in elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This study aimed to evaluate the current status and influencing factors of anemia in RA patients, to provide insights for clinical RA treatment and care. ⋯ Anemia in elderly patients with high RA activity is closely related to the course of RA, LDL-C, PLR and Alb. Close attention should be paid to the monitoring of those indicators to take early intervention measures to improve the prognosis of RA patients.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-associated mortality globally. In particular, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) constitutes the largest percentage of all cases of lung cancer. In clinical practice, radioresistance contributes to poor responses to radiotherapy. Therefore, the demand remains to explore potential novel and effective mechanism underlying radioresistance to improve the efficacy of radiotherapy for NSCLC. ⋯ OMT suppressed the development of radioresistance in NSCLC cells by promoting radiosensitivity, through the reversal of EMT process by inhibiting the DcR3/AKT/GSK-3β pathway.

A decreased insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) level has been found in heart failure (HF). There are no reports assessing IGF-2 in HF, although in vitro research has shown that IGF-2 stimulates cardiomyocyte proliferation more than IGF-1. The study aim was to compare the IGF-1 and IGF-2 concentrations depending on HF exacerbation and annual survival. ⋯ Reduced IGF-2 concentration is a better marker of patients with more advanced HF and a higher 1-year death risk than low IGF-1. Its secretion may depend on the cholesterol concentration.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the risk factors for cervical instability in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). ⋯ There are many risk factors for cervical instability in RA. In clinical practice, special attention should be paid to patients who are male, have a longer course of disease, have long-term glucocorticosteroid use, have previous joint surgery, have peripheral joint damage, and develop disability in Steinbrocker stage I-IV. Attention should be paid to the high-risk groups mentioned above, and effective measures such as early screening and full monitoring should be taken to prevent the occurrence of cervical instability in RA.

Our goal was to systematically review the current evidence comparing the relative effectiveness of two maxillary sinus floor elevation (MSFE) approaches (internal and external) without bone grafts with that of conventional/grafted MSFE in patients undergoing implantation in the posterior maxilla. ⋯ This systematic review revealed that both non-graft and grafted MSFE had high implant survival rates. Owing to the moderate strength of the evidence and short-term follow-up, the results should be interpreted with caution.
