Presacral tumors are a rare group of heterogeneous lesions located in a potential space referred to as the retrorectal or presacral space. Lack of characteristic symptomatology and difficult anatomical localization make the diagnosis and management challenging for a surgeon. The aim of this study was to analyze cases of presacral tumors that underwent surgical treatment with regard to diagnostics, methods and outcomes. ⋯ Presacral tumors are more common in men and more commonly are malignant tumors in this group. The success rate of surgical treatment is 72%, and selection of the surgical approach does not affect the final treatment outcome.

To investigate the effect of dose maintenance, reduction, or discontinuation of the etanercept biosimilar Yisaipu (YSP) on early axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) patients in remission with YSP 50 mg once weekly (QW). ⋯ For patients with early axSpA in remission on YSP for more than 12 weeks, continuation of YSP at full dose was superior to discontinuation of YSP, but not superior to halving the dose.

Inhibition of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin 9 (PCSK9) is an efficient strategy for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). There are, however, scant data on the efficacy and safety of PCSK9 inhibitors in non-cardiovascular diseases, particularly cancer. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of PCSK9 inhibition using a nanoliposomal antiPCSK9 vaccine on cancer behavior and endpoints in mice bearing breast tumor. ⋯ Our results revealed that PCSK9 inhibition may moderately improve breast cancer outcomes while having no harmful effects in tumor-bearing mice.

Co-expression network analysis of the lncRNAs and mRNAs associated with cervical cancer progression.
Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer and the third leading cause of cancer deaths in females in developing countries. Recent studies showed that long non-coding RNAs play a key role in human cancers. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the initiation and progression of cervical cancer remained to be further explored. ⋯ Our results identified key mRNAs and lncRNAs in cervical cancer progression. This study will provide novel insights to explore the potential mechanisms underlying cervical cancer progression.

The aim of our study was to determine the relationship between neuropeptide B (NPB), neuropeptide W (NPW), nutritional and antioxidant status and selected fat- and bone-derived factors in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) treated using pens (T1DM pen group) or insulin pumps (T1DM pump group) in order to investigate the potential role of NPB and NPW in the clinical outcomes of T1DM. ⋯ Measurements of NPB and NPW, besides leptin and adiponectin, are worth considering in the detailed prognosis of nutritional status in T1DM, primarily in the T1DM pen-treated population.
