The long-term outcomes of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) within coronary artery bypasses are still poor as compared to those within native coronary arteries. Thus, we aimed to assess predictors of long-term clinical outcomes after PCIs of coronary bypasses. ⋯ Percutaneous coronary interventions of two or more bypasses, post-dilatation and no-reflow are predictors of worse outcome in patients undergoing PCI within coronary artery bypass grafts.

Annual health expense of hospital admissions, due to venous thromboembolism including pulmonary embolism, exceeds 10 billion dollars in the United States. Most of these patients still get admitted to the hospital despite the advent of novel oral anticoagulants. Our aim is to show that low-risk pulmonary embolism patients can safely be discharged from the emergency department with similar patient satisfaction and lower length of stay. ⋯ In conclusion, our meta-analysis of 2 randomized controlled trials shows that low-risk pulmonary embolism patients can safely be discharged from the emergency departments in the limited studies available. We need more randomized controlled trials to confirm these findings.

The aim of the study was to study a nanoliposomal anti-PCSK9 vaccine as a novel approach for cholesterol lowering via PCSK9 inhibition. ⋯ L-IFPTA+ vaccine can induce long-lasting, functional and safe PCSK9-specific antibodies in hypercholesterolemic C57BL/6 mice, providing a long-term protective impact on dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis.

The incidence of hyperuricemia (HUA) at younger ages is increasing along the coastal regions of China. This study aimed to compare the frequency of dual energy CT (DECT) urate crystal deposition between symptomatic hyperuricemic children and asymptomatic hyperuricemic children. ⋯ Urate deposition can occur in children with HUA, and these deposits occur more frequently in hyperuricemic children with a history of arthritis symptoms. Also, the urate deposition in the first MTP joint and calcaneus was more prevalent than in other joints. It is important to give more attention to hyperuricemic children.

The role of three-dimensional echocardiography (3D-ECHO) chamber quantification in children is still underestimated. ⋯ 3D-ECHO is a valuable tool for assessment of left ventricular volume, which strongly correlates and agrees with CMR. The right ventricular volumes calculated in 3D-ECHO tend to be significantly underestimated in comparison to CMR and corresponding left ventricular volumes obtained from 3D-ECHO. The use of coefficients developed by the study improves the consistency of right ventricular volumes measured by 3D-ECHO with results obtained by CMR and reduces the volumetric discrepancy between ventricles in 3D-ECHO.
