The aim of our study was to assess the diagnostic value of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and red blood cell distribution width (RDW) in children with lymphadenopathy (LAP). ⋯ Children with histologically proven lymphoma have higher NLR, MLR, PLR, and RDW values than children with reactive LAP. NLR, MLR, PLR, and RDW tests, which can be performed even in primary health care centers, may be useful markers to determine which patients with LAP should be referred to the advanced center at an early stage for biopsy (Tab. 4, Fig. 2, Ref. 26).

In order to determine the possible effects of diabetes, we aimed to investigate the expression of extracellular matrix proteins in the theca and granulosa layers in different follicular stages. ⋯ The changes in the expression of laminin, type IV collagen and α3β1 integrin, which are the extracellular matrix proteins in the follicle, along with diabetes, show that diabetes plays a role in the regulation of follicular development (Tab. 4, Fig. 36, Ref. 29).

The main objective of the present study was to investigate the possible osteostimulatory action of recombinant human matrix metalloproteinase-2 (rhMMP-2) implanted in a bone defect made in calvaria of rats, bounded to the monoolein as carrier. ⋯ There was no difference in bone neoformation between second to fourth week within groups. In the present study, monoolein alone had a negative role in the post-operative surgery, but monoolein associated with +rhMMP-2 had a positive role on releasing rhMMP-2 and enhance the rate of new-formed bone (Tab. 1, Fig. 5, Ref. 71).

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of different concentrations of morphine in chronic manner on neuroglial differentiation in PC12 cells. ⋯ It can be concluded that low concentrations of morphine in chronic manner stimulate the neuroglial-like differentiation by activating protein expression and survival-promoting signaling in PC12 cells with opioid receptor-dependent mechanism (Fig. 8, Ref. 36). In the present study, cellular or exosomal expression of H19, an oncofetal lncRNA gene, was evaluated during androgen stimulation via dihydrotestosterone (DHT) or AR blockage via enzalutamide in cultured hormone-sensitive Pca cells which overexpres AR (LNCaP-AR+). ⋯ This experimental study provides evidence that H19 might be involved in androgen receptor pathway. Further research is needed to explore the role of H19 in Pca and intercellular communication via exosomes (Fig. 2, Ref. 32).
