Non-communicable diseases are estimated to account for 90 % of total deaths and 19 % of premature deaths in Slovakia. Major preventable risk factors of premature mortality are overweight, obesity and alcohol consumption. ⋯ An anonymous questionnaire is a useful screening tool for searching for the risks of NAFLD and AFLD in general practice. Recommendation of a screening schedule for general practitioners is implemented (Tab. 2, Fig. 4, Ref. 36).

This study is aimed to determine the relationship between 25-OH vitamin D levels, inflammatory parameters of neutrophil‑to‑lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet‑to‑lymphocyte ratio (PLR), c‑reactive protein (CRP) levels and the disease severity of COVID-19 infection. ⋯ There is no relationship between the severity of COVID-19 infection and 25-OH vitamin D deficiency. Inflammatory parameters are associated with the disease severity, while NLR is an independent predictor of severe COVID-19. There was no correlation between 25-OH vitamin D and inflammatory markers (Tab. 4, Fig. 1, Ref. 38).

High prevalence of cardiovascular diseases is present in benign prostatic hyperplasia patients. Risk prediction models were developed for early identification of these cardiovascular risks. We aimed to evaluate cardiovascular metabolic and autonomic predictors in relation to lower urinary tract symptoms' severity evaluated by the IPSS score. ⋯ Our study results suggest the presence of a combination of hormonal and inflammatory changes in BPH patients affecting the severity of LUTS which is correlated with metabolic and autonomic parameters that can predict an increased risk of CVD (Tab. 3, Ref. 47).

Case Reports
Aborted sudden cardiac death in patient with concealed Brugada syndrome early after skin tattoo.
We report a case of 40‑year-old healthy patient presented with aborted sudden cardiac death. Echocardiography and coronarography were normal. ECG showed minimal non-specific changes in right precordial leads. ⋯ The fever is well described as a provoking factor for malignant arrhythmias in Brugada patients. Thus, a simple and safe procedure like skin tattoo can potentially lead to death in concealed Brugada syndrome population (Fig. 7, Ref. 9). Keywords: adical gastrectomy, D2 lymph node dissection, neoadjuvant therapy.

To determine the current situation and trends in bronchology in the Czech Republic (CR), a questionnaire survey has been conducted by the Czech Pneumological and Phthisiological Society (CPFS). ⋯ Based on the BRS survey in 2020 it can be concluded that Czech bronchology is developing in the right direction and is well equipped with both, staff and technical devices. We are adopting new methods without delays and we expand the use of those working well (EBUS) (Tab. 4, Ref. 13).
