To determine the current situation and trends in bronchology in the Czech Republic (CR), a questionnaire survey has been conducted by the Czech Pneumological and Phthisiological Society (CPFS). ⋯ Based on the BRS survey in 2020 it can be concluded that Czech bronchology is developing in the right direction and is well equipped with both, staff and technical devices. We are adopting new methods without delays and we expand the use of those working well (EBUS) (Tab. 4, Ref. 13).

SARS-CoV-2 is the cause of a pandemic with high mortality. In the present study, the effects of the lipase/lymphocyte ratio on mortality were investigated in cases diagnosed with Covid-19 and acute pancreatitis. ⋯ The lipase/lymphocyte ratio can be used in cases diagnosed with Covid-19 and acute pancreatitis to predict mortality (Tab. 3, Fig. 3, Ref. 23).

The rectovaginal fistula (RVF) is relatively uncommon and by clinical manifestations grave illness. The surgery treatment of RVF is extremely demanding and represents the subject of frustration for many surgeons. Miscellaneous etiology of RVF and various heights of fistula in a rectovaginal septum are crucial for the choice of surgical procedure. Despite targeted treatment, more than one-half of rectovaginal fistulas recurs. We evaluated the frequency of recurrences after surgical treatment by modified Martius graft and its influence on continence and quality of life. The necessity of concomitant colostomy when performing modified Martius graft was the secondary aim. ⋯ Treatment of low rectovaginal fistulas (LRVF) by modified Martius graft is followed by a low percentage of recurrences. It should be the first-line therapy in the algorithm of surgical treatment of LRVF, without the necessity of protective colostomy (Tab. 2, Fig. 3, Ref. 27).

We aimed to assist in the diagnosis of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) with the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). ⋯ Significantly higher NLR levels were found in CVST patients compared to the patients, who were not diagnosed with CVST and the patients without any diagnosis (Tab. 5, Fig. 2, Ref. 22).
