The study aimed to determine a simple diagnostic test that could predict the risk of anastomotic leakage in early postoperative period. ⋯ Despite the fact that the specificity and sensitivity of the followed parameters are low, they could serve as markers useful for early diagnosis or suspicion for leakage (Tab. 5, Fig. 3, Ref. 14).

To investigate the effect and efficacy of traditional Chinese and western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training on pulmonary function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) complicated with chronic cor pulmonale. ⋯ Traditional Chinese and western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training displayed better results on lung function and curative effect than conventional western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training in patients with COPD complicated with chronic cor pulmonale (Tab. 8, Ref. 43). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: traditional Chinese and western medicine combined, lung rehabilitation training, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary function, curative effect.

The hematological toxicity associated with radiotherapy is represented by neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, being associated with the increased risk of infection with opportunists, with fatigue and intolerance to effort, but also with the increased risk of bleeding. In the context of the preclinical and clinical results that mention the synergistic effect of the immunotherapy-radiotherapy association, radiation-induced lymphopenia (RIL) becomes an immunosuppression factor, a factor that would tip the fragile antitumor immunopotentiation-immunosuppression balance in favor of the immunosuppressive effect. ⋯ In this context, a redefinition of the dose-volume constraints and the definition of bone marrow, lymphoid organs and lymph nodes not involved in tumors as organs at risk (OARs) is strictly necessary in the case of using irradiation through intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) techniques or volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) for solid tumors that benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy (Ref. 22). The MILOS concept binds the benefit of the sublay mesh augmentation in the way of functional and morphological reconstruction of the abdominal wall without the need to use penetrating fixation elements and with the benefits of minimal surgical access. The transhernial approach is carried out at low cost with standard laparoscopic instruments. ⋯ Our experience with this new hernia repair shows that this treatment possibility is feasible for general use also in small district departments without the need to use of robotic technology. This skill will be necessary for future F.E.B.S AWS (Tab. 2, Fig. 3, Ref. 15). The relationship between epicardial adipose tissue and inflammatory events has been shown in many studies. Because it is an inflammatory process in coronary progression, it is aimed to examine the relationship between coronary artery disease progression and epicardial adipose tissue thickness. ⋯ An independent relationship was found between epicardial adipose tissue and coronary artery progression. In the light of these findings, it can be concluded that epicardial adipose tissue residue is effective in the development of coronary artery stenosis and calcific-atherosclerotic changes in the coronary arteries. In the light of the information obtained, a positive correlation was determined between epicardial adipose tissue thickness and coronary artery disease (Tab. 3, Fig. 2, Ref. 15).
