The association between genetic polymorphisms and early cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) development is relatively unexplored. Identification of genes involved in the CAV process may offer new insights into pathophysiology and lead to a wider range of therapeutic options. ⋯ Results of this study suggest that genetic variability may play an important role in CAV development. The vascular endothelial growth factor A gene SNP rs1570360 showed the strongest association with intima thickness (IT) progression measured by OCT, even in the presence of the traditional CAV risk factors (Tab. 3, Fig. 3, Ref. 36). The aim was to investigate the prognostic accuracy of admission ECG and its usefulness in determining the population at the highest risk of worse outcomes. ⋯ The presence of ischemic changes in ECG in chest pain population with AMI suspicion increases the risk of MACE. The group at highest risk of MACE can by identified by the additional stratification with the admission single hs-TnT measurement (Tab. 2, Fig. 4, Ref. 40). The relationship between ventricular arrhythmias and major depressive disorder (MDD) has been previously revealed. Recently, frontal QRS-T angle (fQRSTa) and Tp-Te/QT ratio proved to provide more accurate predictive data about ventricular arrhythmias than the measurement of QT, QTc, and QT dispersion. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of MDD on contemporary ventricular arrhythmia indicators. ⋯ MDD predisposes to ventricular arrhythmia by causing increased fQRSTa and Tp-Te/QT ratio on ECG. Increased fQRSTa and Tp-Te/QT ratio may be useful indicators of dysregulation in the autonomic nervous system and increased risk of ventricular arrhythmias in MDD patients (Tab. 6, Fig. 4, Ref. 38). Abnormal kidney ultrasound and function in a five-year-old boy born prematurely with a birth weight of 370 grams.
It is known that prematurity and low birth weight are associated with chronic kidney disease and hypertension. A positive correlation between kidney volume and birth weight was also described. ⋯ We believe that thorough follow up and timely diagnosis of developing renal insufficiency may help us to initiate proper treatment in high-risk children (Tab. 1, Fig. 1, Ref. 7). To investigate the effect of vaccine types applied in our country against 2019 coronavirus disease on the formation of protective antibodies in oncology patients. ⋯ The Biontech vaccine produced higher antibody levels in advanced oncology patients. While the application of radiotherapy in cancer patients was not found to be an effective factor in the vaccination status, it was determined that the application of chemotherapy significantly reduced IgM levels (Tab. 5, Ref. 28). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 vaccine, cancer patients, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG, abscopal effect.
