The work was aimed to determine the level of oral dysbiosis of patients depending on the type of prosthetics constructures. ⋯ Quantitative indicators of the composition of the microbiota of the cervical areas of denture wearers have significant differences and different levels of dysbiosis of the oral cavity, depending on the type of dentures in the patients' mouth (Tab. 2, Fig. 1, Ref. 21). The studies on the pathogenesis of schizophrenia reported data indicating that abnormal immune responses might play a role in the development of schizophrenia. One of the markers of systemic inflammation is the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). In our study, the relationship between the early-onset schizophrenia, NLR, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) was investigated. ⋯ The results of the study support the multisystem inflammatory process model related to schizophrenia, which was revealed in previous studies, also in children and adolescents in the patient group (Tab. 4, Ref. 36). Urinary tract infections (UTI) are the most common infectious complications after kidney transplantation (KTx) with highest incidence in the first three months of transplantation. UTI in transplant recipients increase morbidity and mortality, risk of graft failure and incidence of acute rejection episodes. According to published data, urinary tract infections significantly affect graft survival. The aim of our study was to identify possible risk factors for the development of UTI. ⋯ We identified the aforementioned risk factors of urinary tract infections in the files of our patients. Statistically, the most significant risk factors are the female gender, and presence of urological complications. The urological complications and BMI of the patients are considered modifiable factors. Based on our analysis, we confirmed a significantly higher number of ACR patients who overcame infection which is in accordance with the published data on association of UTI with the development of acute cellular rejection (ACR) (Tab. 2, Fig. 1, Ref. 15).

COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus and turned into a pandemic in a short time, affects many organs and systems, especially the nervous system. In the present study, it was aimed to determine the morphological and volumetric changes in cortical and subcortical structures in recovered COVID-19 patients. ⋯ As a result, it was seen that COVID-19 negatively affected many structures related to the nervous system. This study is a pioneering study to determine the consequences of COVID-19, especially in the nervous system, and to determine the etiology of these possible problems (Tab. 4, Fig. 5, Ref. 25). During cancer surgery, the perioperative period is characterized by stress response and immunosuppression that can lead to further worsening of the disease and metastatic spread. Local anesthetics have antiproliferative, cytotoxic and antimetastatic effects on cancer cells in vitro. There is scientific evidence that local anesthetics possess anti-inflammatory effects, help to preserve normal immune function and reduce the possibility of metastatic spread. ⋯ The use of local anesthetics during the perioperative period in oncological patients may have a beneficial effect on their survival and cancer recurrence.
