Impact on COVID-19 morbidity and mortality according to the regulations on the use of face mask.
Currently, the face mask represents an incomparable symbol whose value went from clinical work to impacting the containment of the spread of SARS-CoV-2, although it has become an element of discord in the general population. ⋯ The recommendation for face mask widespread use is a measure with sufficient scientific support to reduce the number of COVID-19-related infections and deaths.

Robotic surgery is a technological advance that is used in multiple surgical specialties in the world. Its acceptance in various areas has been supported by comparative studies with laparoscopic surgery and open surgery. ⋯ Starting a program in a private medical center has several implications. The creation of a robotic surgery committee made up of certified robotic surgery specialists from each specialty and hospital authorities for the accreditation of guidelines for both certification and recertification of their doctors can benefit programs like ours by creating a center of excellence in robotic surgery and thus reduce complications and improve results.

Kidney transplant (KT) is the most common solid organ transplantation in the world. ⋯ KTs should be considered an integral part of renal replacement therapies. The GODT reports include the numbers of patients on dialysis for each country. Mexico does not always report this data, probably due to the lack of a national registry of chronic kidney disease, the creation of which should be supported.

To determine the psychosocial and economic impact suffered by patients diagnosed with uveitis in Mexico. ⋯ This is the first national study to portray the condition of patients with uveitis and the shortcomings they go through, including the economic and biopsychosocial fields.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has had a significant global impact due to the millions of deaths it has caused secondary to respiratory failure. However, the disease has also been associated with a wide array of manifestations in other organ systems. ⋯ Parosmias are a type of olfactory dysfunction characterized by altered perception of odors, which can reflect both damage at some level of the olfactory tract, as well as the possibility of reversibility of said damage. The present manuscript describes possible olfactory disturbances associated with COVID-19, their pathophysiology, and potential clinical significance.
