Vitiligo is an incurable, slowly progressive skin condition, the prevalence of which ranges from 0.4 to 2.0%. Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) refers to self-perceived well-being associated with the presence of a disease and its treatment. ⋯ Poorer HRQoL is explained by severity self-perception, concern about disease progression, appearance of the skin and necessary actions to avoid sun exposure during recreation.

Due to sanitary restrictions secondary to the COVID-19 pandemic, various interactions between the pharmaceutical industry and physicians have changed. One of them has been the method for promoting medicinal products through academic meetings around diseases of financial interest. ⋯ These meetings are often biased not towards optimal care of a disease, but rather towards commercial promotion of a specific drug, which may or may not be the best option, without considering associated therapeutic alternatives. The Committee of Ethics and Transparency in the Physician-Industry Relationship, of the National Academy of Medicine, analyzes this new circumstance and proposes some considerations to the medical community.

In the care of patients with medically unexplained physical symptoms (MUPS) it is important what they think about their symptoms. ⋯ The scale showed acceptable construct validity and good reliability and stability. The implications of these results for future measurement research are discussed.

Triglyceride-glucose index impact on in-hospital mortality in acute myocardial infarction. Results from the RECUIMA multicenter registry.
The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is considered a new marker of insulin resistance, and is associated with the development of cardiovascular diseases. ⋯ The TyG index constitutes an independent risk factor of in-hospital mortality in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

The study of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies allows asymptomatic individuals with COVID-19 to be identified, and post-infection and post-vaccination immunity status to be evaluated. ⋯ The study of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies allowed asymptomatic health workers to be identified. A high percentage of participants with prior COVID-19 diagnosis had antibodies. All participants developed IgG antibodies after vaccination, with higher titers being identified in those with previous infection.
