Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Efficacy and safety comparative study of dexrabeprazole vs. esomeprazole for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.
A national survey in the general population showed that gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is highly prevalent in Mexico. ⋯ In the treatment of non-erosive GERD, the use of dexrabeprazole at 10 mg/day is as effective as esomeprazole 20 mg/day, with the advantage that the dose is lower with an appropriate safety profile.

[Analgesia preventiva con pregabalina en pacientes postoperados de colecistectomía laparoscópica].
Preventive analgesia is the administration of an analgesic drug with the aim of attenuating post-operative pain, hyperalgesia and allodynia. Its use is justified in order to offer analgesia and reduce anxiety in patients undergoing laparoscopic procedures. ⋯ The use of pregabalin as preventive analgesia turns out to be effective in the post-operative period and the pre-operative anxiety with minimal adverse effects in the post-operated patients of laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

[Response to serotonergic and noradrenergic antidepressants: a crossover study of fluoxetine and desipramine in patients with first major depression episode].
Response rate data from studies with different kinds of antidepressant drugs help in the development of guidelines for the rational prescription of pharmacotherapy. However, there are still few comparative studies with selective reuptake inhibition on serotonin or norepinephrine in the same sample of major depression patients. ⋯ These data suggest that among first major depressive episode outpatients fluoxetine and desipramine are equally effective. In patients who have been non-responders to one of the studied drugs, the other one is strikingly effective; this kind of treatment maneuver should be considered in such patients.
