Paired stimulation can cause neuroplasticity in corticospinal and spinal pathways in subjects with a chronic spinal cord injury (SCI). We aimed to know the effects of different waveforms using paired stimulations with bicycling in subjects with a chronic SCI. ⋯ The paired stimulation with rTMS-iTBS/tsDCS was equally effective to produce neuroplastic effect in subjects with chronic SCI compared to the conventional TMS-20 Hz/tsDCS intervention.

The inconclusive issue of teeth treated with periodontal regeneration and combine with orthodontic tooth movement warrants further investigation and clinical experiences. The objectives of this retrospective clinical study were to analyze periodontal health and stability of teeth with periodontitis under the periodontal regeneration and orthodontic treatment and the timing and direction of orthodontic movement intervention. ⋯ Our study revealed that teeth can be successfully moved following regenerative surgery with good periodontal improvement. Moreover, early orthodontic tooth movement may not jeopardize the regenerative effect, and may have the potential to improve the overall efficiency of the treatment. Besides, moving into the defects can benefit more in probing depth reduction and clinical attachment level gain.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common chronic skin disease. Only relatively scant studies from Asian countries have attempted to quantify AD-associated healthcare utilization and costs by using population-based databases. This study aims to evaluate the AD-associated annual healthcare utilization and costs in Taiwan. ⋯ AD was found to impose significant healthcare costs, with estimated total cost burdens of NT$3.61 billion in 2017, which is 0.314% of Taiwan's national health expenditure and 0.020% of Taiwan's gross domestic product.

Therapeutic efficacy and cognitive adverse events of overactive bladder medication in patients with central nervous system Disorders-A cohort study.
This cohort study evaluates therapeutic efficacy and adverse events (AEs) of various overactive bladder (OAB) medications for patients with central nervous system (CNS) disorders. ⋯ OAB medication had good therapeutic efficacy in patients who had OAB with CNS disorders, especially in cerebrovascular accident and parkinsonism. No OAB medication or their combination affected cognitive function, whereas minimal AEs were noted with mirabegron. Mirabegron could be recommended as the first choice for managing OAB in these patients.

Residents play an important role as teachers of junior colleagues and medical students. Clinical teaching also helps residents in clinical learning. However, the skills required for residents to be competent teachers are rarely described systemically. Beyond the widely adopted six core competencies for postgraduate training by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the teaching competencies should be further developed, and the milestones should be clearly defined to serve as better references for resident training programs. ⋯ A competency-based framework for resident-as-teacher was developed. The framework can be applied in combination with other existing competencies for holistic postgraduate training programs.
