The diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), involving multiple components of clinical assessments, is challenging. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Generic (ADOS-G), one of the standardized and validated instruments for ASD diagnostic evaluation, has been widely used in many countries. With the preparation of the Mandarin version of the ADOS-G (Mandarin-ADOS-G), this study aims to examine its psychometric properties, including reliability and validity. ⋯ The Mandarin-ADOS-G is a reliable and valid instrument for assisting the diagnosis of ASD in the Mandarin-speaking population.

Diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity, and cardiac dysfunction are the hallmarks of the cardiometabolic syndrome. Pathogens include hypercoagulability, inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and oxidative stress. Increased white fat, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are caused by obesity. ⋯ However, anxiety and depression can cause cardiovascular disease. It has been shown that PUFAs found in fish oil can improve glucose and lipid metabolism, cardiac membrane composition, and inflammation in the body. By repairing the dysregulation of metabolic syndrome, fish oil is a potential therapeutic target for cardiovascular diseases.

The S100 family proteins are involved in a variety of important biological processes, most notably immune and inflammatory responses. Their dysregulation also plays a role in the pathogenesis of human cancers. S100A4, also known as metastasin, has long been regarded as a biological marker in tumor progression and metastasis in multiple solid cancers, but its clinical significance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has not been extensively studied. ⋯ This study provides evidence that S100A4 overexpression serves as a poor prognostic biomarker in AML, holds potential to guide treatment planning in the clinic, and indicates novel therapeutic directions.

Distinct hepatitis relapse has been observed after discontinuing entecavir (ETV) or tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) therapy in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. End-of-therapy (EOT) serum cytokines were compared and used for outcome prediction. ⋯ Distinct cytokine profiles were observed after stopping ETV or TDF. Higher EOT IL-7, IL-18, and IFN-gamma could be probable predictors for VR and CR in patients discontinuing NA therapies.

Due to the general application of in vitro test, cell culture is generally selected to evaluate the cytocompatibility of devices and materials. The choice of test condition should depend on the probable site and clinical application. The oxygen content of human body could be estimated around 5%∼12%, and the oxygen level of healing bone fracture range from 0.8%∼3.8%%. However, materials for bone implant are traditionally evaluated under laboratory normoxia condition (21% O2) in vitro. The aim was to study the effect of oxygen level on osteoblast upon high stiffness titanium with different roughness. ⋯ Our results demonstrated that 5% O2 will easily discriminate osteoblasts responses on different SLA-treated specimens. These results suggest that hypoxia (5% O2) environment is better model for biological evaluation of bone-related materials.
