Data on self-harm (SH) repetition in non-Western adolescents are limited; this study is to survey the predictors. ⋯ The continuation rate of SH was similar to that reported in Western countries. These predictors should be included in the treatment plan to prevent SH continuation.

To evaluate the changes in clinical outcome and urodynamic parameters after tailored anterior transvaginal mesh (ATVM) surgeries in a mid-term follow-up. ⋯ In women with advanced cystocele, the ATVM surgery provides a favorable anatomic reduction outcome with an acceptable mesh extrusion rate. The ATVM provides an anti-incontinence effect, both in subjective symptoms and objective parameters, but this effect might decline after postoperative 2 years.

Practice Guideline
2022 Taiwan lipid guidelines for primary prevention.
Elevated circulating low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is a major risk factor of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Early control of LDL-C to prevent ASCVD later in life is important. The Taiwan Society of Lipids and Atherosclerosis in association with the other seven societies developed this new lipid guideline focusing on subjects without clinically significant ASCVD. ⋯ A healthy lifestyle with recommendations for foods, dietary supplements and alcohol drinking are described. The pharmacological therapies for LDL-C reduction are recommended. The aim of this guideline is to decrease the risk of ASCVD through adequate control of dyslipidemia in Taiwan.

Postoperative skeletal relapse is the most important issue in patients undergoing orthognathic surgery. This study aimed to investigate clinical skeletal relapse (≥2 mm) after mandibular setback surgery (intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy: IVRO) using receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) analysis. ⋯ In IVRO, the postoperative mandibular positions reveal posterior drift and anterior displacement (relapse). The experience of clinical observation and patient perception of postoperative skeletal relapse was ≥2 mm. In the ROC curve analysis, the cut-off point of setback was 14.1 mm.

Although blood test is a routine in major burns, its relationship with burn size and intensive care unit length of stay (ICULOS) remains undetermined. We investigated the feasibility of using these tests as a reference for definite diagnosis of major burn size, burn size >20% of the total body surface area (TBSA), and their relationships with ICULOS. ⋯ Admission Hb and WBC could be used as a reference for definite diagnosis of major burn size, especially in borderline cases. BUN/Cr in females, and Hb and BUN in males, were related to ICULOS.
