This study examined the prevalence and related factors of multiple (two or three) types of harassment victimization, including school bullying, cyberbullying, and teacher harassment, and their cumulative effects on depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and suicidality in adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) but without intellectual disability. ⋯ Experiencing more than one type of harassment victimization was significantly associated with the development of mental health problems in adolescents with ASD. ODD and hyperactivity/impulsivity symptoms predicted the risk of experiencing multiple types of harassment.

Pressure ulcers are a common problem in hospital care and long-term care. Pressure ulcers are caused by prolonged compression of soft tissues, which can cause local tissue damage and even lead to serious infections. This study uses a deep learning algorithm to construct a system that diagnoses pressure ulcers and assists in making treatment decisions, thus providing additional reference for first-line caregivers. ⋯ Our CNN model, which was based on Inception-ResNet-v2, achieved high accuracy when classifying different types of pressure ulcers, making it applicable in clinical circumstances.

High-dose-rate (HDR) electronic brachytherapy (EBT) has been shown to be effective for non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) in Caucasian patients. However, its efficacy remains unknown in Asian patients. To analyze the clinical outcome of HDR EBT for NMSC in a Taiwanese medical center. ⋯ HDR EBT provides adequate clinical outcomes and cosmetic results for NMSC in Asian patients. Further investigation of the dosage guidelines is needed for Asian patients with NMSC.

Hereditary cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) are characterized by clustered dilated capillary-like vessels in the brain. Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is characterized by renal cysts and extra-renal abnormalities. We report a Taiwanese family in which the index case exhibited coexisting phenotypes of both CCMs and PKD. ⋯ Segregation analysis revealed that four siblings were affected by either isolated aforementioned PKD2 or CCM2 variant. Notably, radiological CCMs were exclusively found in siblings who had this CCM2 variant, and bilateral internal carotid artery aneurysms were restricted to one sibling who had the PKD2 variant but not the CCM2 variant. Our study expands the genetic spectrum of CCM2 and demonstrates unambiguous cosegregation of CCM2 and PKD2 variants with their respective phenotypes.

Living donor kidney transplantation (LDKT) is an important organ resource, especially in countries with low deceased donation rates. Strategies for expanding access to transplantation should be developed by identifying the modifiable factors. In this study, we evaluated these factors in the relatives of patients from both medical centers and dialysis clinics using questionnaires. ⋯ More efforts need to be made in dialysis clinics, where general nephrologists are important for the outreach of information. In addition, dealing with religious ambivalence and reestablishing cultural mindsets with health education programs are important issues in a non-Christian country.
