After years of setting up public automated external defibrillators (AEDs), the rate of bystander AED use remains low all over the world. This study aimed to assess the public awareness and willingness of bystanders to use AEDs and to investigate the awareness on the Good Samaritan Law (GSL) and the factors associated with the low rate of bystander AED use. ⋯ The importance of active awareness and the barriers to the use of AEDs among bystanders seemed to have been underestimated in the past years. The relatively low willingness to use AEDs among bystander healthcare providers and women needs further investigation.

We assessed the reliability and validity of Taiwan's version of FertiQoL, with a focus on the association between quality of life (QoL) and in-vitro-fertilization (IVF) pregnancy. ⋯ The study results demonstrate that the refined Taiwan's FertiQoL is valid and reliable, suggesting that this FertiQoL should refined to be culturally and language appropriate for Taiwanese population.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Ropeginterferon Alfa-2b administered every two weeks for patients with genotype 2 chronic hepatitis C.
Ropeginterferon alfa-2b is a novel mono-pegylated interferon that has only one major form as opposed to the 8 to 14 isomers of other on-market pegylated interferon products, allowing every-two-week injection with high tolerability. It received European Medicines Agency marketing authorization in 2019 and Taiwan Biologics License Applications Approval in 2020 for the treatment of polycythemia vera. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Ropeginterferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin in genotype 2 chronic hepatitis C (CHC) patients. ⋯ Ropeginterferon alfa-2b, although at only half the number of injections, is as safe and effective as Peg-IFN-α2a for genotype 2 CHC. A phase 3 study to confirm safety and efficacy of Ropeginterferon alfa-2b in genotype 2 CHC is ongoing.

Comparing image qualities of dental cone-beam computed tomography with different scanning parameters for detecting root canals.
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a useful device in creating 3-dimensional images in the examining area of dentistry and is one of the most common clinical methods in detecting second mesiobuccal (MB2) canals in maxillary molars. The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the image quality of the small field of view (FOV) CBCT with different rotation arcs and scanning speeds in the use of detecting root canals. ⋯ Slow-speed mode is inevitable in maintaining adequate image quality during taking CBCT. However, endodontists can use the half rotation mode to significantly reduce radiation dose, exposure time, and still maintain sufficient image quality for root canal anatomy assessment.

Genotype 2 (GT2) hepatitis C virus infection is the second common genotype in Taiwan. Real-world experience of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) for GT2 infection is limited. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of LDV/SOF in patients with GT2 chronic hepatitis C (CHC) infection. ⋯ Twelve weeks of LDV/SOF treatment provided an excellent and safe regimen for GT2 CHC infection, particularly in non-cirrhotic patients.
