The 2023 consensus from the Taiwanese Dermatological Association (TDA) and Taiwan Lung Cancer Society (TLCS) addresses the management of tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)-induced skin toxicities in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Providing a comprehensive overview, the consensus reflects recent advances in understanding causes and developmental processes of TKI-related skin toxicities. ⋯ Recommendations underwent a voting process, achieving consensus when 75% or more of experts agreed, leading to their inclusion. Approved by over 90% of participants, the recommended treatment algorithms for major skin toxicities offer valuable insights for clinicians managing TKI-associated effects in NSCLC patients.

To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of intravenous tirofiban before endovascular thrombectomy in subgroups of acute ischemic stroke patients with different degrees of leukoaraiosis (LA). ⋯ There was no significant difference in disability severity at 90 days when treating AIS patients using intravenous tirofiban before endovascular therapy, in either absent-to-moderate or severe LA strata. It should be noted that intravenous tirofiban before endovascular therapy increases the incidence of radiologic intracranial hemorrhage in patients with severe LA.

This retrospective study evaluated the efficacy and adverse effects of oxaliplatin-based hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with secondary cytoreductive surgery (CRS) in patients with recurrent ovarian cancer. ⋯ Oxaliplatin-based HIPEC with secondary CRS might provide a survival benefit for patients with recurrent ovarian cancer with a decreased incidence of renal toxicity compared to cisplatin-based regimens. It might be effective and feasible in selected recurrent ovarian cancer patients, regardless of platinum-sensitive or resistant.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) eradication using antiviral agents augments the metabolic profile. Changes in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in chronic hepatitis C patients who receive glecaprevir/pibrentasvir (GLE/PIB) remain elusive. ⋯ The HbA1c levels improved shortly after HCV eradication using GLE/PIB. The improvement in glycemic control can be generalized to all subpopulations, particularly in patients with a higher baseline HbA1c level or diabetes.

The hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a global problem despite effective tools to prevent, diagnosis, and control it. Unmet needs are identifiable across its clinical care cascade, underlining the challenges providers face in delivering effective care for patients with chronic hepatitis B. ⋯ This includes efforts to optimize delivery of perinatal HBV care, improve HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma risk stratification models, and clarify the role of finite therapy in the HBV treatment algorithm. Important developments within these three topics will be addressed with the goal to motivate further investigation and optimization of these treatment strategies for HBV.
