Soft-tissue sarcoma of the arm-An oncosurgical and reconstructive challenge: A case report.
Soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) is a rare tumor that may occur in the upper extremity. Its presentation is delayed by slow growth and lack of symptoms. Lesions are discovered via physical and radiologic examinations, and definitive diagnosis is conducted histopathologically. ⋯ The patient remained relapse-free after a regimen for adjuvant chemotherapy. Satisfactory aesthetic results and modest elbow extension were evident during the 11-month follow-up. Properly managing upper extremity STS is crucial for preventing recurrence and metastasis.

Because of there is no sufficient evidence showing a relationship between blood types and severity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, this study was planned to investigate the effects of ABO blood group on the clinical outcomes of SARS-CoV-2 infection. ⋯ Our results are in agreement with other studies suggesting that blood group O individuals are somewhat more resistant to clinically overt infection with SARS-CoV-2 than other blood groups. In addition, Rh negativity may also be an individual risk factor for SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Studies on the evaluation of the Perfusion Index (PI) and the Pleth Variability Index (PVI) and the success of PI and PVI block in patients undergoing brachial plexus are limited and quite inadequate. ⋯ In our study, we observed an increase in PI from the 1st minute compared to the non-blocked arm in successful block applications. We consider the early indicator of PI in the evaluation of block success. In our study, we did not observe a significant change in the arm that was blocked and the arm that was not treated with PVI.

The hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign (HMCAS) on admission non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) is a well-characterized phenomenon in acute ischemic stroke. ⋯ We showed that the presence of HMCAS in initial CT was not helpful in predicting good clinical outcomes in patients undergoing endovascular therapy patients. However, the presence of HMCAS is related to more new territory embolism during the procedure. Different endovascular strategies may be applied to these patients.

Understanding the different skeletal relationships in orofacial clefts by using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) may eventually lead to developing better diagnosis and treatment protocols for facial deformities. ⋯ Skeletal class III relationships were found to be predominant in both sexes, followed by class II, and class I skeletal relationships. Henceforth, such CP ± L patients should be pre-emptively screened in early life to avoid such skeletal complications.
