Giant conjunctival melanoma treated with excision and primary reconstruction using a partial thickness skin graft.
Conjunctival melanoma is a rare type of malignancy of ocular surface tissue with a high recurrence rate, sight, and life-threatening malignancy. In this paper, we report a case of giant conjunctival melanoma in an 86-year-old woman, localized on her left eye. ⋯ In the three years of follow-up, no signs of recurrence have been observed. The treatment approach with local excision and subsequent reconstruction with the partial thickness skin graft or excision with adjuvant therapy has given a good clinical outcome.

It is a common practice to subjectively categorize cleft lip deformities into narrow and wide cleft. The proposed grading of unilateral cleft lip can serve as a predictive factor of the difficulties to be encountered during repair and the expected outcome of surgery. ⋯ This grading of unilateral cleft lip helps in objective preoperative assessment of the severity and in predicting the difficulty expected during lip repair. It is also helpful in assigning clefts to trainees and in determining which patients should be referred to an experienced surgeon.

Aesthetic rehabilitation for anterior teeth of dental fluorosis with direct composite veneers.
Intrinsic discoloration can be formed due to many reasons, and by clinical evaluation and history from the patient, the exact cause of the discoloration can be known and one of the reasons that can make the intrinsic discoloration is the high level of fluoride intake. Two siblings had come to the Department of Restorative Dentistry clinics; they had the same compliance which is severe dental fluorosis, caries, and malocclusion of their teeth. ⋯ According to their financial concern and their desire to get their teeth done as soon as possible, the use of direct composite veneer for the treatment of anterior teeth was decided. Long-term clinical trials are required to assess the efficacy of various treatment options for fluorosis of different severity.

Two different surgical techniques "inside-out" and "outside-in" have been described for transobturator tape procedure, one of the most preferred methods for the surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence in the last ten years. This study aimed to compare the success, complication, and patient satisfaction rates related to both techniques in patients who underwent transobturator tape procedure due to stress urinary incontinence in a 21-month period. ⋯ Transobturator tape operation is a procedure that provides high success rates in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence regardless of the used technique. Operation success rates, patient satisfaction rates, and postoperative quality of life scores were found to be almost similar in both surgical techniques.

Human teeth and nails have demonstrated similar factors genetically, embryologically, and morphologically. The fingernail form may be used as a post-extraction guide for selecting the tooth form. ⋯ A definite correlation exists between maxillary central incisor tooth form and fingernail form. The fingernail form may be used as a post-extraction guide for selecting the maxillary central incisor tooth form in the Saudi Arabian population.
