Spontaneous Partial Percutaneous Extrusion of Swallowed Metallic long Spoon: A Case Report.
Foreign body ingestion is a commonly encountered clinical challenge. Most of these objects pass spontaneously, but long objects could be retained leading to uncommon complications. There seem to be no record of percutaneous extrusion of ingested spoon in literature. ⋯ Patient had an uneventful postoperative recovery. Clinicians should be mindful that ingested large foreign bodies may be delayed in presentation. Whereas our index patient had open surgery, minimally invasive retrieval approaches could be considered when comparable cases are encountered.

A 54-year-old female patient with complaints of abdominal pain for 2 months was admitted to the General Surgery clinic of our tertiary care hospital. Abdominal ultrasound (US) and computed tomography revealed cholelithiasis, liver hydatid cyst, and hypodense multicystic mass lesion in the pancreatic body. ⋯ Pancreatic hydatid cyst can be rarely seen isolated or can develop synchronously to liver hydatid cyst, and should be kept in mind in a differential diagnosis. If the perioperative diagnosis is confirmed and in case of the absence of a pancreatic ductal fistula, surgical morbidity and mortality can be reduced by applying cystotomy and external drainage procedures.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomised controlled study of seroma rates after mastectomy with and without quilting the skin flap to pectoralis muscle.
The aim of this study was to determine whether seroma formation was affected by reduction of the potential dead space with the flap fixation method and obliteration of the axillary region in patients with breast cancer who underwent either mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection or sentinel lymph node biopsy. A total of 105 patients with breast cancer were divided into two groups according to wound closure patterns. ⋯ Reducing potential dead space with flap fixation and obliteration of the axillary region may be useful in decreasing the development of seroma in patients who have undergone mastectomy because of breast cancer. However, surgical technique must be careful, and appropriate patient follow-up must be conducted.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the pull-out bond strength of fiber post when cemented with a self-adhesive dual-cured resin luting cement and a conventional light-cured resin luting cement. In addition, the influence of a light-emitting diode (LED) and halogen (QTH) curing lights on the pull-out bond strength was assessed. ⋯ It is concluded that a dual-cured resin luting cement should be used for the cementation of fiber post. Further research is required to understand the light transmission of translucent fiber posts.

Mechanic ileus due to retroperitoneal migration of total hip prosthesis; A case report.
Intrapelvic migration of total hip prosthesis is a rare but severe complication of total hip arthroplasty that can cause severe outcomes for elderly patients. A 78-year-old female patient was referred to our hospital with the complaint of no gas-stool excretion for 3-4 days, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, and a preliminary diagnosis of ileus. Computed tomography showed the migration of the left total hip prosthesis to the pelvis, causing a hematoma around the prosthesis and mechanical ileus due to the compression of the hematoma. ⋯ Although postop paralytic ileus is one of the complications of total hip arthroplasty, mechanical ileus has not been described before. This case report shows that mechanical ileus might be an unreported complication of total hip arthroplasty. It should be kept in mind that mechanical ileus complications may also occur after hip arthroplasty.
