Extraoral and intraoral dental photographs serve as preoperative records and document the entire treatment. Correctly composed orthodontic photographs are crucial for remote diagnosis and may serve as a bulwark against medicolegal challenges. ⋯ This combination of lens and flash may prove a valuable investment in the long-term aiding in excellent dental images for diagnosis and treatment monitoring.

In previous studies, it was shown that ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) is an early marker of ischemia and different pathologies. However, IMA level change is unknown in patients with peripheral vertigo. It is also known that serum albumin levels can change in some patients with peripheral vertigo and that changes in serum albumin levels affect IMA levels. ⋯ It was observed that IMA level was slightly higher in patients with peripheral vertigo, although not significantly, compared to the control group. However, the albumin-adjusted IMA level, which indicates the real IMA level, was observed to be higher in this group than in the control group. It was determined that the sensitivity of this test was 34%, and the specificity was 87%. Patients with peripheral vertigo had lower albumin levels compared to controls.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in hospitalized trauma patients. Ultrasonography (US) has replaced venography as the initial diagnostic tool for DVT. ⋯ Most cases of DVT developed in the first week of hospitalization. Combined thrombo-prophylaxis was more effective than single regimen at reducing rate of DVT in neurosurgical trauma patients. Routine Doppler ultrasound DVT surveillance should be part of the management protocol for neurosurgical trauma patients on admission to increase DVT detection and prevent possible fatal pulmonary embolism.

The Relationship between Choroidal Thickness and Liver Damage in Simple Auto-immune Hepatitis Patients.
There was no sufficient clinical evidence on the relationship between auto-immune hepatitis (AIH) and risk of eye illness, except 11 uveitis cases where related AIH is reported currently. ⋯ The improvement of ChT might reflect the remission of liver damage in simple AIH patients without ocular symptoms during oral prednisone treatment.

His study aimed to evaluate the availability of common diagnostic tests and biochemical markers in predicting poor prognosis in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAC). The primary outcome measure was to identify predictive prognostic factors. The secondary outcome measure was to compare predictive measures in patients who survived or did not survive in the follow-up period. ⋯ Pretreatment high DRR, high IG counts and IG%, and poor differentiation of the tumor might be used as independent predictors of poor prognosis and mortality in patients with PAC.
