Cerebellar infarcts are encountered commonly in clinical practice; however, they are likely to be misinterpreted. They cannot be adequately evaluated on scales such as the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), which can have fatal consequences. ⋯ The study found that some baseline clinical, neurovascular imaging findings, and the mRS score on admission are useful predictors of cerebellar stroke prognosis and outcome.

Prevalence of Doppler-Derived Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction Among Newly Diagnosed Hypertensive Patients.
The initial sign of hypertensive heart disease (HHD) is left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD), which is caused by remodeling of the left ventricle and left atrium, resulting in impaired relaxation of the left ventricle. LVDD is also partly due to left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). If left untreated, LVDD can progress to diastolic heart failure and systolic heart failure. In Western countries, the prevalence of LVDD in long-term hypertensive patients ranges from 40.3% to 60%, but it is more common among hypertensive Nigerians. Since systemic hypertension can be asymptomatic in the early stages, it is important to evaluate LVDD early and control blood pressure to slow down its progression. ⋯ LVDD is highly prevalent among newly diagnosed hypertensive patients, with stage 1 being the most common. Female gender, older age, higher BMI, higher blood pressure, higher LAVI, and higher LVMI were significant predictors of LVDD. Early detection and appropriate management of LVDD may help to prevent adverse cardiovascular outcomes in hypertensive patients.

Public Awareness on Perio-systemic Interplay: A Cross-Sectional Survey in South India.
The oral cavity has been referred to as "the gateway to overall health." The number of smartphone users has progressively increased worldwide. Altered biomechanics of the cervicothoracic spine and ribcage could limit the chest wall function that affects the respiratory muscles strength, reducing diaphragm function in smartphone users. This study aimed to compare breathing patterns between smartphone-addicted and -nonaddicted user groups. ⋯ This study concluded that excessive smartphone use and breathing patterns are not associated.

Various healthcare professionals, including dentists, provide botulinum toxin (Botox) for cosmetic and therapeutic treatment. In dentistry, it has multiple uses, such as gummy smile, bruxism, sialorrhea, muscle spasm, and orofacial pain, yet unwanted side effects may arise. ⋯ The usage of Botox therapy in the field of dentistry has increased significantly. Participants had an acceptable level of knowledge regarding the use of Botox in esthetic practices but lacked knowledge of the therapeutic scope of Botox therapy. The majority of participants had no doubt about the medical professionals administering Botox. It is advised to educate the public about the extent of Botox treatment and offer a trustworthy source of information required.
