Antibiotic resistance is a global problem and is more prevalent in developing countries. Coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) are recognized as important pathogen for nosocomial infections. This study was carried out to identify CoNS in various clinical specimens and to determine its antimicrobial susceptibility pattern. ⋯ The study concluded that CoNS showed significant level of resistance against most of the widely used therapeutic agents.

To determine rate of nasal colonization in Patients suffering from bacteraemia caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. ⋯ Nasal colonization rates with MRSA were high among patients suffering from MRSA bacteraemia especially in those undergoing dialysis or surgical procedures. Therefore, screening and nasal decolonization should be practiced in hospitals.

To analyze the clinical effects and safety of carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and carotid artery stenting (CAS) in the treatment of high-risk carotid stenosis patients. ⋯ The efficacies and safety of CAS and CEA are similar in treating high-risk carotid stenosis patients.
