To determine number of sessions of Endoscopic variceal band ligation required to obliterate the esophageal varices. ⋯ Most patients underwent 3-4 sessions of EVBL for obliteration of varices. Number of EVBL sessions increased significantly with duration of disease.

To study the prevalence of inducible clindamycin along with vancomycin and methicillin resistance and assessment of hyper variable region (HVR) of mecA gene among different clinical isolates of Staphylococcus spp. ⋯ D-test must be performed routinely to avoid clindamycin failure. A high level of resistance against vancomycin in Staphylococcal isolates is a concern for public health.

To determine the cases of Noninvasive Follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary like nuclear features (NIFTP) in Pakistani population retrospectively. Another objective was to determine their clinical and radiological outcomes with respect to local and systemic disease recurrence, reconfirming the benign course of this new nomenclature in Thyroid tumors by WHO in our population would encourage adopting the new conservative treatment approach in such patients. ⋯ Our study favors the low risk nature of NIFTP with no disease recurrence in the cases studied and encourages de-escalation of treatment.

To discuss clinical effect of different dosage of rituximab combined with cyclophosphamide in treatment of refractory immune thrombocytopenia (rITP). ⋯ Rituximab combined with cyclophosphamide has the definite curative effect on rITP. The small dosage of rituximab combined with cyclophosphamide has higher clinical safety in the treatment.

To determine frequency of post induction and post consolidation minimal residual disease (MRD) in pediatric B-lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) patients and its association with clinical risk factors. ⋯ Despite high frequency of MRD positivity, significant association is not observed between post induction MRD and risk factors. However, post consolidation MRD has a significant association with NCI risk groups, age and CNS status.
