To evaluate the influence of dapagliflozin on renal functions and diuretics use in patients with acute heart failure (AHF). ⋯ Institution of dapagliflozin did not cause any significant deterioration of renal functions, whereas; it was associated with improved diuretic response as depicted by more pronounced weight loss at comparatively lower doses of loop diuretics.

To determine the correlation and clinical significance of musculoskeletal ultrasound semi-quantitative grading with bone salt metabolism, rheumatoid factor and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. ⋯ Musculoskeletal ultrasound semi-quantitative grading is correlated with the level of bone salt metabolism, rheumatoid factor and ESR in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. It can be combined with laboratory examination to objectively judge the severity of the course of rheumatoid arthritis.

This study aimed to determine the incidence of extra pulmonary complications among critically ill COVID-19 patients requiring invasive mechanical ventilation and association of these complications with various inflammatory markers and degree of hypoxia. ⋯ Acute kidney injury, septic shock, cardiac injury, and electrolytes imbalance were the most common extra pulmonary complications among mechanically ventilated COVID-19 patients with ARDS. Higher serum d-dimer levels were associated with acute liver injury, NSTEMI, ICU stay longer >3 days and invasive mechanical ventilation >2 days. Higher serum ferritin levels are associated with male sex and serve as an important predictor of ICU as well as hospital mortality.

To determine diagnostic accuracy of 18F-FDG PET - CT imaging in determining Bone marrow involvement in pediatric HL by taking bone marrow biopsy as standard. ⋯ Our findings support the idea that BMB should not be routinely conducted in all patients but rather can be reserved exclusively for patients with dubious 18F-FDG bone marrow findings, as this test has strong diagnostic potential for evaluating BMI involvement in HL.

To investigate the role of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) (16/18) in relation to the molecular genetic mechanisms of Cyclin D1, p53, p16, and Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (LSSC). ⋯ The role of high-risk HPV 16/18 is concurred in the present study strongly in correlation to p16 as a surrogate marker. Moreover, the other driver mutations of Cyclin D1, p53, and EGFR are also implicated as cumulative molecular events in tumor progression as mostly seen in higher Grades.
