This study aimed to observe the diagnostic value of cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with vascular dementia induced by ischemic stroke. ⋯ Patients with vascular dementia induced by ischemic stroke are characterized by cortical atrophy, widening of the cerebral sulcus, large infarct lesion area and sparse cerebral white matter. Cranial MRI can effectively identify these features. The application of cranial MRI has some clinical values for early treatment and prognostic assessment.

COVID-19 has taken the world by storm, creating much disparity among both healthcare and non-healthcare centres regarding the provision of services. The purpose of our study was to see the prevalence of the SARS-COV-2 exposure in the asymptomatic patients undergoing the endoscopic procedure, already triaged based on history and examination. ⋯ About one-fourth of the patients undergoing the endoscopic procedure were tested positive for COVID antibodies of which a significant percentage had chronic liver disease. It stresses the need of observing standard precautions to prevent the spread of infection during these procedures, especially in the vulnerable population.

To compare the effects of high-speed turbodrill root extraction and piezosurgery tooth socket enlargement on the alveolar ridge preservation of maxillary anterior teeth. ⋯ Piezosurgery tooth socket enlargement is more worthy of clinical application due to its advantages of less impact on the preservation of the palatal alveolar ridge height of the maxillary anterior teeth, shorter tooth extraction time, postoperative pain-free rate and high final satisfaction rate.

In this study, we investigated the expression of zinc alpha-2 glycoprotein in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissue samples. Additionally, ascertained its association to the oral cancer stage and subscale parameters (TNM). ⋯ Zinc alpha-2 glycoprotein expressed in the early stages of oral cancer development so that effective treatment modalities can be planned as per the patient's status. This may also assist a clinician to achieve tumor-free surgical margins and monitor the post treatment outcomes.
