Preoperative rehabilitation should improve the functional condition of patients. Improvements in metabolism, lung mechanics, cardiovascular function, and muscle-function can be achieved by pulmonary rehabilitation. Hence, we focused on elderly patients with lung cancer undergoing surgery, and assessed the effectiveness of a rapid and precise pulmonary rehabilitation nursing program during the perioperative period. ⋯ Strengthening pulmonary rehabilitation nursing interventions for elderly patients with lung cancer during the perioperative period can reduce their postoperative complications and promote their rapid recovery. To evaluate the clinical effects of chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the effect on their nutritional status and immune function. ⋯ Chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy is effective in treating patients with advanced NSCLC without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions, and can significantly improve their nutritional status and T-lymphocyte function. This therapeutic regimen is of much higher clinical value than the chemotherapy-only regimen.

To investigate the association between clinicopathological findings and tumor stage according to AJCC 2018 guidelines in patients suffering from Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). ⋯ Application of 8th Edition AJCC guidelines identifies the importance of the latest classification with strong association of latest stage criteria with age, gender, site of primary tumor, tumor thickness, depth of invasion, nodal metastasis and size of largest lymph node involved, and Level of Lymph node involved (level III & V) in a subset of patients from a developing country.

In neonates, hyperbilirubinemia is the most common problem. Acute bilirubin encephalopathy is serious problem in less developed nations and their incidence varies with geographical location. Our objective was to find out the incidence and risk factors of acute bilirubin encephalopathy in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia. ⋯ Our study observed 16% prevalence of acute bilirubin encephalopathy in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia. The preterm birth was a significant risk factor associated with the acute bilirubin encephalopathy in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia.

To compare maternal and perinatal outcome of Ramadan fasting during pregnancy in women with/without gestational diabetes. ⋯ Gestational diabetes do not affect maternal and perinatal outcome among pregnant women.
