To determine the sensitivity of ACR-TIRADS scoring by comparing its results with those obtained on biopsy of respective specimens. ⋯ The Ultrasonographic ACR-TIRADS scoring and risk stratification system is highly sensitive for detecting malignancy in thyroid nodules. It is, therefore, a reliable technique in the initial assessment of thyroid nodules and decisions can safely be based on its results. In cases of doubt, clinical judgment should be exercised before making final decision.

This randomized trial aims to compare the clinical, and radiological outcomes between plaster cast and volar plating for distal radius fractures (DRF) in the elderly at six months, and one-year. ⋯ The results of the trial have shown that plating and casting are equally effective in achieving satisfactory patient reported and clinical outcomes at intermediate and final follow-up restoring patient satisfaction.Trial registration: The trial is registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry. The trial registration number is ChiCTR2000032843, and the URL is: http://www.chictr.org.cn/searchprojen.aspx.

Serous ovarian carcinoma (SOC) is characterized by extreme genomic instability, chromosomal rearrangements and copy number variations (CNVs) leading to the development of early metastasis and chemo-resistance. The present study was designed to observe the role of CNVs of Cyclin E1 (CCNE1) and Epithelial cell transforming sequence- 2 (ECT2) genes and their encoded proteins in predicting the chemotherapeutic response in SOC patients. ⋯ The copy number variations of CCNE1 and ECT2 genes and their protein expression are positively associated with chemotherapeutic response in SOC patients.

Identification of clinical characteristics and risk factors for mortality in COVID-19 is important for early detection and precise case management. The study aimed to describe the sociodemographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of in-hospital COVID-19 deaths in Almadinah Almonawarah city, Saudi Arabia, and to identify risk factors for early mortality among them. ⋯ Old age, comorbid illness, and severe respiratory involvement were prevalent among COVID-19 deaths. Comorbidity scores were significantly higher in women. Comorbidity was found to be significantly more associated with early deaths.
