To investigate the effect of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and Oxygen Nebuliser mask (ONM) on patients recovering from inhalation anesthesia. ⋯ Compared with ONM, HFNC can shorten postoperative recovery time, reduce the incidence of agitation and improve lung function and oxygenation state during recovery from anesthesia.

Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocol has been developed and practiced for various surgical procedures to improve outcomes in the postoperative period. We hereby present our experience of ERAS for a large cohort of patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty (TJA). ⋯ ERAS protocol can bae effectively implemented for patients undergoing TJA. The use of ERAS leads to better postoperative outcomes and shortened hospital stay.

To view the different patterns of presentation of HIV in pediatric population along with mode of transmission and associated co infections and co morbidities. ⋯ In children HIV is more prevalent in males especially under 4 years with fever, cough, diarrhea and pallor being the common symptoms at presentation. Tuberculosis is the commonest co infection as we are endemic for TB and mother to child transmission is the commonest mode of transmission as there was no outbreak in our area.

This randomized trial aims to compare the clinical, and radiological outcomes between plaster cast and volar plating for distal radius fractures (DRF) in the elderly at six months, and one-year. ⋯ The results of the trial have shown that plating and casting are equally effective in achieving satisfactory patient reported and clinical outcomes at intermediate and final follow-up restoring patient satisfaction.Trial registration: The trial is registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry. To determine the effects of fasting on weight and eventually on Body Mass Index (BMI) in medical students of a Public Sector Medical College. ⋯ Ramadan offers a non-hazardous way of weight loss. Further studies across different geographical locations with larger sample sizes should be conducted to identify and quantify the association between weight and fasting and also to identify potential confounders.
