To explore the diagnostic value of video electroencephalography (VEEG) combined with magnetic resonance imaging diffusion tensor imaging (MRI-DTI) in epilepsy. ⋯ The application of MRI-DTI combined with VEEG to diagnose patients with epilepsy allows for the identification of abnormal structural changes in brain and the location of lesions. Combining both approaches can improve the diagnostic accuracy of each technique alone and provide a reference for the formulation and adjustment of disease management plans.

To compare the clinical efficacy of microendoscopic discectomy + fibrous ring suture versus microendoscopic discectomy alone in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH) in young and middle-aged patients. ⋯ Both of the two surgical methods are effective in the treatment of LDH in young and middle-aged patients, and microendoscopic discectomy + fibrous ring suture in particular may be preferred because it results in significant improvement in patients' VAS and ODI scores.

The clinical spectrum of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) varies from asymptomatic infection to severe disease with multiorgan dysfunction. Cardiovascular involvement is common and in rare cases can lead to serious complications, such as fulminant myocarditis. ⋯ Guidelines on the management of COVID-19-related myocarditis are yet to be established. We present here the case of a male patient in his early fifties admitted with life-threatening myocarditis in the course of COVID-19 infection who was successfully treated and recovered without any sequelae.

To explore the correlation of iron deficiency (ID) indexes with eradication and recurrence of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection in children. ⋯ Low level of SF may be a risk factor for difficulty in eradication and recurrence after eradication in children with Hp infection. Meanwhile, low levels of Hb and SI are influential factors for difficulty in eradication in children with Hp infection.

To explore the behavior patterns of students and working adults regarding the duration and quality of sleep and water intake in an urban environment and to identify the relationship between nighttime sleep extent and water intake with mood and cognitive performance. ⋯ Sleep duration and water intake patterns may affect mood and cognitive performance. Regular sufficient nighttime sleep and adequate hydration may help improve cognitive functioning and mood.
