Strength of motivation of 1st year dental students of a dental institution: A cross-sectional study.
The study aims to evaluate the motivation levels of dental students, with an emphasis on first-year BDS students, by utilizing the Strength of Motivation for Medical School (SMMS) questionnaire. ⋯ Motivation is vital to achieving excellence in academic pursuits. Nevertheless, there isn't a single criterion that can be utilized to assess success and motivation. Our primary focus must be on every possible outcome of success, not just the scoring criteria.

Iodine deficiency is considered as a global challenge, even after decades of efforts to solve the issue. Our objective was to assess the iodine deficiency status and associated prevalence of goiter in population groups (school-age children and women) from rural areas of District Poonch, and to assess the determinants of iodine deficiency in the area. ⋯ Study showed that there was a severe iodine deficiency and associated goiter prevalence in the area. Policymakers should take actions for future to overcome iodine deficiency in future.

To determine the role of ultrasound in evaluation of scar thickness for prediction of uterine dehiscence. ⋯ Transabdominal Sonography is a safe technique to determine the LUS thickness during antenatal ultrasound at term. A cutoff value of ≤2mm showed a high sensitivity and negative predictive value of 93% for evaluating the risk of uterine dehiscence.

Osteoporosis is a global health concern characterized by reduced bone density and compromised bone quality, resulting in an increased risk of fractures, particularly in postmenopausal women. The assessment of bone mineral density (BMD) plays a pivotal role in diagnosing osteoporosis, as it accounts for approximately 70% of overall bone strength. The World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed BMD measurement as a reliable method for diagnosing this condition. ⋯ The intricate relationship between bone density, bone quality, and overall bone strength is central to understanding the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis. Current innovation in machine learning and predictive model can bring revolution in the field of bone health and osteoporosis. Early identification of people with osteoporosis or risk of fracture through machine learning can prevent disability and improve the quality of life.
