To evaluate the clinical efficacy of thalidomide combined with PAD regimen in patients with multiple myeloma (MM). ⋯ Thalidomide combined with a PAD regimen is definitely effective in patients with MM, it can obviously improve immune function and bone salt metabolism, with no increase in adverse reactions but high safety and effectiveness.

To assess the prevalence, pattern, and associated factors of dyslipidemia in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) in the Northwest region of Pakistan. ⋯ Mixed dyslipidemias were observed in the majority of the patients. Age, BMI, and residence were noted to be independently associated with abnormal lipids. Early screening and proper management should be encouraged to minimize this significant cardiovascular risk.

To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of interventional embolization in the treatment of anterior circulation aneurysms. ⋯ Interventional embolization shows the advantages of minimally invasive procedures such as shorter operative times and shorter hospital stays. It has better clinical safety because it can significantly improve the neurological function and quality of life of patients, improve the prognosis of patients, and reduce the incidence of complications.

To explore the factors affecting the intraoperative conversion of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) to thoracotomy in patients with lung cancer. ⋯ Conversion from VATS to thoracotomy may increase the risk of complications in patients with lung cancer. Tumor in the upper lobe, central lung cancer, history of pulmonary tuberculosis, high degree of pleural adhesion and large tumor diameter are risk factors for conversion from VATS to thoracotomy.

To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of different imaging modalities in patients with partial biliary obstruction with no obvious aetiology on initial imaging. ⋯ EUS is superior to MRCP in terms of diagnostic accuracy as minimally invasive diagnostic tool and EUS superiority is particularly relevant in patients with intermediate risk of choledocholithiasis.
