COVID-19 has taken the world by storm, creating much disparity among both healthcare and non-healthcare centres regarding the provision of services. The purpose of our study was to see the prevalence of the SARS-COV-2 exposure in the asymptomatic patients undergoing the endoscopic procedure, already triaged based on history and examination. ⋯ About one-fourth of the patients undergoing the endoscopic procedure were tested positive for COVID antibodies of which a significant percentage had chronic liver disease. It stresses the need of observing standard precautions to prevent the spread of infection during these procedures, especially in the vulnerable population.

To compare the effects of high-speed turbodrill root extraction and piezosurgery tooth socket enlargement on the alveolar ridge preservation of maxillary anterior teeth. ⋯ Piezosurgery tooth socket enlargement is more worthy of clinical application due to its advantages of less impact on the preservation of the palatal alveolar ridge height of the maxillary anterior teeth, shorter tooth extraction time, postoperative pain-free rate and high final satisfaction rate.

In this study, we investigated the expression of zinc alpha-2 glycoprotein in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissue samples. Additionally, ascertained its association to the oral cancer stage and subscale parameters (TNM). ⋯ Zinc alpha-2 glycoprotein expressed in the early stages of oral cancer development so that effective treatment modalities can be planned as per the patient's status. This may also assist a clinician to achieve tumor-free surgical margins and monitor the post treatment outcomes.

To evaluate the clinical efficacy of a chemotherapy regimen combined with levofloxacin in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis complicated with Type-2 diabetes. ⋯ Chemotherapy combined with levofloxacin is a safe and effective regimen for patients' pulmonary tuberculosis complicated with Type-2 diabetes, boasting a variety of benefits such as improved clinical efficacy, ameliorated cellular immune status, a high negative conversion rate of sputum tuberculosis bacteria, and no significant increase in adverse reactions.

The term "brain drain" refers to the exodus of educated or professional individuals to another nation, industry, or field, typically in search of a higher salary or living standard. Our objective was to look into the reasons why medical students leave after graduation, how it affects Pakistan's socio-medical situation, and what may be done to address it. ⋯ According to this survey, one in three medical students aspires to move overseas after graduation owing to a lack of resources and ineffective management, which has been adversely affecting Pakistan's socio-medical situation. As a result, it is important for Pakistan's health officials to launch campaigns to address the issues faced by medical students and physicians in order to prevent brain drain.
