To view the different patterns of presentation of HIV in pediatric population along with mode of transmission and associated co infections and co morbidities. ⋯ In children HIV is more prevalent in males especially under 4 years with fever, cough, diarrhea and pallor being the common symptoms at presentation. Tuberculosis is the commonest co infection as we are endemic for TB and mother to child transmission is the commonest mode of transmission as there was no outbreak in our area.

To correlate the serum levels of ceruloplasmin (Cp), copper (Cu), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) with pulmonary function tests (PFTs) in non-diabetics (controls) and patients suffering from Type-1 and Type- 2 diabetes. ⋯ Hyperglycemia leads to more non-enzymatic glycosylation of tissue proteins that reflects reduced PFTs and increased Cp; particularly in T2D, which may alter lung tissue's physiology. Moreover, the study showed no correlation of PFTs with the Cp, Cu, and SOD in patients suffering from T1D and T2D.

To investigate the correlation of antinuclear antibody (ANA), antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) and anticardiolipin antibody (ACA) with the degree of the neurological defect and cerebrovascular stenosis in patients with cerebral infarction. ⋯ The positive rates of ANA, ACA and ANCA antibodies were higher in patients with ACI, which was closely correlated with the degree of cerebrovascular stenosis and neurological deficit.

To evaluate the efficacy of hematological parameters to predict severity of COVID-19 patients. ⋯ It can be concluded from the study that total leucocyte count, absolute neutrophil count and neutrophil lymphocyte ratio can predict in-hospital mortality and morbidity in COVID-19 patients.

To investigate the correlation between dyslipidemia and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) in patients with diabetes mellitus. ⋯ Dyslipidemia and glucose metabolism in patients with Type-2 diabetes mellitus have a close bearing on carotid IMT. Clinically, patients with Type-2 diabetes mellitus can be judged by monitoring carotid IMT for dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis and other related complications.
