We assessed the TG/HDL-C ratio as a predictor for the presence of coronary artery calcifications (CACs). ⋯ The Triglyceride to High-Density Lipoprotein TG/HDL-C ratio is an independent risk factor for CAC with good diagnostic efficacy.

Rapid innovations in medical science have necessitated the development of an advanced medical curriculum. Taking a step towards this, a temporal integrated system and clinic-pathological conferences themes were introduced in a public sector medical university for fourth year MBBS. This study aims to assess students' perceptions regarding this change. ⋯ A small step was taken to make improvements in an old traditional method. Students are adapting to this change as they responded positively to various aspects of this methodology. Continuous feedback, evaluation and amendments will help to improve its effectiveness.

To determine the inter-rater reliability of pressure biofeedback unit among individuals with and without chronic low back pain. ⋯ Pressure Biofeedback Unit has showed excellent inter-rater reliability in measuring Transverse Abdominis muscle activity for individuals with and without chronic LBP.

India's public healthcare system is reeling under the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the country reporting over 30 million cases and 481,000 deaths by the end of 2021. The rise of the omicron variant threatens to add further strain on a chronically underfunded public health system, which a considerable proportion of the population living in poverty depend on. ⋯ This write up calls for a major and urgent reform of the doctor and patient experience, achievable through prioritized funding to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improving job security and satisfaction for healthcare workers, and improving the quality and safety of care delivered to patients throughout the nation. India must build a healthcare system focused on ensuring patient satisfaction and a positive patient experience by offering convenient healthcare access and high standards of care and treatment delivery.

To assess the association of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) α-SMA and ß-catenin levels and the severity of pneumonia. ⋯ The levels of α-SMA and ß-catenin in BALF are closely associated with the clinical condition of patients with severe pneumonia; the levels are positively associated with the severity of the disease and they increase with symptomatic worsening.
