To explore the risk factors, pathogens and outcomes of severe community-acquired pneumonia (SCAP) in patients with respiratory failure. ⋯ A high mortality rate was observed in our study. Age, presence of two or more complications, septic shock, length of mechanical ventilation, and low paO2 were identified to be independent predictors of mortality for patients with SCAP.

To explore the correlation of anxiety levels of medical students measured before, during and after assessments with their performance in formative assessments. ⋯ Fluctuation in anxiety scores at different stages of assessments affects academic performance. Identification of the effect of anxiety may help improve the academic performance of medical students.

To explore the optimal ablation index (AI) parameters for radiofrequency catheter ablation (RA) for treating atrial fibrillation (AF). ⋯ Radiofrequency ablation of AF, guided by optimal AI combined with impedance, can minimize atrial injury, prevent atrial failure, promote the recovery of atrial function, reduces intraoperative cough, pain, and postoperative gastrointestinal discomfort and use of PPIs.

This study was conducted to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic value of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in different categories of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients on arrival. ⋯ BNP can be a useful Biomarker along with standard cardiac biomarkers in various categories of patients with ACS.
