This study was aimed to elucidate the prevalence-pattern and determinant of cesarean section (CS) in a multiethnic cohort from Pakistan. ⋯ This study revealed high variability in CS in various socio-demographic strata of study population. The obstetric complications highlighted in this study may be reduced by proper perinatal counseling and pregnancy monitoring and should be the focus of intervention programs as suggested in the Millennium Development Goals.

This study was conducted to explore the faculty's opinion regarding factors impeding practical transition from traditional to integrated medical curriculum at the outset and a few years after the process. ⋯ Several factors if ignored can result in failure of integration of curriculum in undergraduate medical colleges. Relevantly appropriate policies should be outlined by the regulatory body to ensure the control on the impediments.

To observe the clinical value of 3D printing technology assisted surgery combined with early postoperative comprehensive rehabilitation in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures. ⋯ 3D printing with early rehab proved to be effective treatment in our study. Such a combined treatment has the advantages of precise operative reduction, fast postoperative recovery, and certain safety and effectiveness.

Acute leukaemia is the most common and highly curable childhood malignancy; subtyping and identification of antigens via immunophenotyping helps in treatment plan as well as minimal residual disease monitoring. ⋯ Overall immunophenotypic profile, expression of aberrant phenotypes and subtype distribution in our patients was similar to international literature except for a relatively high frequency of T-ALL which was discordant from the western data.

To determine the frequency and predictors of outcome of gastrointestinal complications (GIC) in critically ill children. ⋯ GI complications are a frequent occurrence in the PICU and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. The use of sedative drugs and the presence of shock with MODS were amongst the important contributing factors.
