To analyze the efficacy and safety of decitabine combined with CAG ((cytarabine + aclacinomycin + granulocyte colony stimulating factor)) regimen and CAG regimen alone in the treatment of elderly acute myeloid leukemia. ⋯ The combination of decitabine and CAG regimen is effective in the treatment of elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia. The therapy can fully inhibit cellular immune function and improve long-term survival rate, and its safety has a small difference with that of CAG regimen alone. It is worth clinical promotion.

To determine the quality of life of students of a private medical college in Karachi in Pakistan. ⋯ Medical education influences the quality of life (QOL) of students adversely. Social relationships and environmental domain were satisfactory in private medical institutes whereas physical and psychological progress was low due to academic load which requires improvement either by physical activities such as fitness classes or other extra-curricular activities.

Gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD) broadly includes the whole spectrum of reflux disease symptoms like heartburn or acid regurgitation to endoscopic, reflux esophagitis or Barrett's esophagus. Our aim therefore was to study the association between Gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms and various lifestyle factors. ⋯ Lifestyle factors particularly less physical activity, late evening meals, inadequate sleep, smoking and post dinner lying were found to be associated with GERD symptoms.

To determine the frequency of diabetes in pregnancy (DIP), namely pre-gestational, gestational (GDM) and overt diabetes mellitus (DM) in women registered for delivery. ⋯ We observed a high proportion of overt DM. In early registrants, almost one third of DIP was diagnosed in the first half of pregnancy, an opportunity missed in late registrants. Altering diagnostic thresholds of DIP affected only a small proportion of women.

To determine the effectiveness of Occupational therapy (OT) in improving activities of daily living performance in complete cervical tetraplegic patients. ⋯ Occupational therapy significantly improves activities of daily living performance in complete cervical tetraplegic spinal cord injury patients.
