Hepatic Veno occlusive disease (VOD), also known as sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (VOD/SOS), is a post-transplant life threatening complication. In this study, we aimed to discuss the incidence, management and outcome of VOD in post allogenic transplant patients of beta thalassemia major (BTM). ⋯ Careful selection of transplant candidates before transplant can help reduce the incidence of VOD.

To compare the analgesic effects and incidence of postoperative adverse events after the erector spine plane (ESP) and transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). ⋯ ESP block and TAP block in LC patients have similar operation time and incidence of postoperative adverse events such as nausea and vomiting. However, short-term postoperative analgesic effect of ESP block is superior to TAP and requires a lower dose of analgesia.

To describe current trends and characteristics of esophageal cancer (EC) over the past ten years largest tertiary care hospital of Karachi, Pakistan. ⋯ According to our findings, SQC is more prevalent than ADC. Female predominance especially at younger age was most common as compared to past studies. No significant association between a single risk factor has been found in our study however smoking and betel nut chewing were found as known putative risk factors.

To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of edaravone dexborneol combined with tirofiban in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. ⋯ Edaravone dexborneol combined with tirofiban in the treatment of ACI can effectively improve patients' neurological deficits, quality of life and cerebral blood flow, and reduce inflammatory factor levels, have significant clinical efficacy and high clinical treatment safety.

To evaluate clinical presentation and pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women with Covid-19 infection in our local tertiary care from lower middle-income country. ⋯ Majority of pregnant women were asymptomatic. Symptomatic women with COVID-19 infection had an increased risk of adverse feto-maternal outcome.
